Being a busy 51-year-old working mum of 2 children, finding the time to exercise regularly was really difficult. Why I Become A Coach

I wasn't always in good shape, I was overweight growing up. 

It wasn't until I left school and started dating that my weight became a real issue for me.

I felt, if I didn't like the way that I looked then why would anyone else?

This drove me to needing to make a change, but I didn't know how.

I tried all of the fad diets and they never lasted I would lose and gain, lose and gain and each time was heart breaking.

  • I ended up resorting to cutting out food, eating as little as possible and training as much as I could.

    I lost the weight because I was determined, but I lost it in a very unhealthy way. 

    I then hated the way that I looked when I was skinny and I developed an eating disorder, I had a fear of food. 

    I wouldn't eat out or socialize, and if I ate even the smallest amount of chocolate, I would burn it off at the gym before doing my actual workout.

    I was miserable and I didn't want to live like that anymore, and that's what led me to learning the science behind body recomposition. 

    Learning the science changed my life, it freed me. I learned how to get in shape eating all foods. 

    I now know how to fuel my body to feel my absolute best, high in energy and no afternoon crashes, plus I also know how to maintain that including all the foods I love like cheesecake, chocolate, burgers and mexican food (p.s Mexican is the best, fight me).

    I also learned that you don't have to workout for hours everyday. You can get in great shape working out as little as 3x per week 45-60 minute session. 

    The more knowledge you have the less work you have to do. Training specific for your goals and having the right balance with your nutrition will fast track your results, in a sustainable way. 

    This inspired me so much that I needed to show others that this is possible. I started training men and women to begin with, however my clientele became more women than men.

    What I found was that women find it harder than men to lose weight and this fascinated me, so I started tailoring my coaching towards helping women, women of all ages, let's beat menopause together!

    I wanted to show women it didn't have to be hard and that they can make these incredible changes too.

Meet Menna

Menna 51 years young at 5’2. Menna always struggled and thought that menopause had beaten her, but she fought back and dropped a whopping 25" inches in 5 months!

In the past I have enrolled on different programs to hopefully educate me regarding leading a healthier lifestyle.  It has always been a struggle to find one that ticks all the boxes.  Normally I would be sent a whole lot of information, given a calorie allowance and then left alone to work out how it all worked with very little or no support along the way.  

  • I also travel a lot with my work and having to follow a gluten free diet also feels sometimes, very restrictive but enrolling onto Shane's programme has made all of this so easy.  I've always wanted a programme that would fit into my lifestyle and this one does! Now travelling is not an issue and I'm enjoying life more than ever!  My only regret is that I didn't start the programme earlier.  It has changed my life and has educated me so that I am confident to continue the journey alone now that I have finished the programme.  

    After nearly accepting that I was likely to be overweight into midlife and beyond I am now entering a new and exciting phase of my life with everything to look forward to.
